The flat itself was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Additionally, there was a lot of space for living outside with the big terasses and the beautiful garden in front of the house with all its exotic plants like lemons, passion fruit and beautiful bourgainvillea bushes. There are also Avocado trees nearby and banana plantages. Communication was also quite easy, Gerlinde is very responsive. We received detailed instructions a long time before actually travelling and got prompt answers to any questions. Hermigua is a beautiful valley with some agriculture, a few bars, bakeries and nice restaurants within walking distance from the flat. Parking is easiliy possible closeby which made this an ideal basis for exploring the beatiful island of La Gomera.

If you want to stay in a nice traditional Canarian house, this would be a great opportunity. House is really great, very clean, with a lot of space in the house and also outside. Nice barbique and also many other amenities. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy Hermingua valley.

Belles terrasses très agréables. Calme.

Casa Pilar is in a wonderful location, right in the middle of Hermigua which is a quiet village in the Hermigua valley. The house has lots of character and was very comfortable with basic but adequate amenities. The terrace was fantastic - wonderful views for breakfast, and a very good barbecue for dinner. The village itself had a number of very good restaurants. Would highly recommend Tasco Telemaco and also El Faro which is down at the bottom of the valley overlooking the shore.

This was a lovely place to stay - Gerlinde was very helpful prior to our arrival giving us information about our stay. Pilar was lovely and very welcoming - it did help that we had some Spanish, but I got the impression she would do her best even if you didn't speak Spanish. All the little terraces and the well-tended greenery made all of the spaces a lovely place to be - my son spent a happy hour juicing the fallen passion fruit and we picked up a fallen avocado from the path in front. We were glad of the hire car that we had - although I think local buses were frequent, we only had a week and a car made it much easier to go where we wanted when we wanted. Although parking wasn't on site, it was easy and handy. There was information on La Gomera in the apartment (though some of it was rather dated) but Pilar gave us some suggestions of where to go - we particularly enjoyed our trip up to the highest point of the island (we were lucky to get a clear day) and our visit to Vallehermoso was good too. La Gomera itself was a great place to visit - unspoilt compared to other Canary Islands that we've visited, with some stunning scenery and friendly locals. We ate out every night and had some lovely fish dishes (we don't eat meat) - we even managed to (mostly) please a teenage palate! Locally we particularly liked El Faro near the beach and Las Chacaras up the valley. Having tried Playa Santiago, Valle Gran Rey and San Sebastian, we decided that La Caleta, just over from Hermigua, was the nicest beach - a lovely little sheltered cove with a bar/cafe to get food, beer and ice cream. We would definitely come back here, both to La Gomera and to Pilar's place - a walking holiday would be good as there seemed to be an extensive network of waymarked paths (though some of us would need to be a lot fitter to deal with those steep hills!) Altogether highly recommended!

Everything went really well: the contact with Gerlinde was super easy, Pilar's house is really beautiful, with so many sunny terraces, fruits in trees, etc. You'll really enjoy this place.
