El Guro on La Gomera

Ausblick in das Tal von El Guro

The small village of El Guro on La Gomera, which is a little further up in Valle Gran Rey, deserves in our opinion its own article. Although El Guro only has an estimated 80 inhabitants (as of 2019), the small artists' village enjoys great popularity among tourists. Surrounded by countless palm trees, many individually built holiday homes and tropical fruits, El Guro is still a small oasis of peace. In summer it is also a little cooler here and you live a little further away from the usual tourist streams. The ideal place to switch off and let your soul dangle.

There is no own supermarket in El Guro and so you are forced to plan your shopping well! The next supermarket is located in the village of La Calera, or in the lower valley of Valle Gan Rey.

If you book your accommodation in El Guro, we also recommend you to rent a car - this way you are at the beach in a few minutes and also a little more mobile. We also recommend booking your accommodation early, especially during the winter season, which usually lasts from mid-December to Easter.

At Canarianfeeling you will find a large selection of holiday homes and flats in El Guro. Whether you are looking for an idyllically situated holiday home or a small holiday flat in El Guro, you will definitely find what you are looking for!

Waterfall near El Guro

The most popular sight in El Guro is the small waterfall (Salto de Agua) - or rather the beautiful hiking trail there. Nestled in the green "Barranco de Arure" it takes about 1,5 hours to get to the small waterfall. The path is well signposted and although many locals do it differently, we recommend sturdy shoes for the hike.

The beaches of Valle Gran Reys are about 2,5 kilometres away from El Guro and so you can reach the sea in a few minutes by car.
